I've had a wonderful stroke of fortune in recent days. A foolish clerical error led to my being abducted by Ferengi bounty hunters and taken to Kzin space where they hoped they would collect upon that old bounty father had put on me all those years ago. Honoured Maarcuz Riit dealt with the Ferengi and the dashing Captain of the Freedom risked his very life to rescue me.

In the wake of that ordeal, my brother even named me. Well, not really named, but recognized the name which you gave me at birth. You know how hard he's been working to reestablish females in Kzin society, and this has to be his riskiest step yet. I hope to do him honour as he has also drafted me to military service and assigned me as an exchange officer to the Freedom. Another stroke of luck, I'm now the Chief Medical Officer onboard a Cardinal class starship!

We even had a rat rally today for who knows what reason. Good eating, mmm...

Unfortunately all is not well. A ghost from the past has emerged from the shadows. Remember all those times I asked you about your life in space Murri? All those times you wouldn't answer when I asked about the souls you served with? I finally met one, a Milton Dammers, and he was in cryo for longer than I've been alive. And he hates me. I don't understand it Murri, he has an absolutely irrational hatred of felinoids of any stripe! He attacked me while I was in a lifesaving effort in sickbay and there's no telling what he might do to my cubs!

What happened out there Murri? I know you were hurt, but what happened? I'm scared Murri, I'm really, really scared. Please, tell me what happened.
